Graduation Season and Storytelling

You may have seen singer and songwriter Eric Church’s recent commencement address at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Using the metaphor of life and the six strings of a guitar, he struck a chord with every strum. The blend of words and music was storytelling at its finest.

Even if we can’t add music to our writing, we can still give it rhythm and melody. Great writing hums like a song.
