Three Years & Counting

This week marks three years since I founded Haj Media and began consulting for a variety of clients, from law firms to nonprofits and companies needing crisis communications assistance. Celebrating a work anniversary in the middle of a pandemic felt a bit odd at first, but it is a great time to say thank you because we’ve been truly blessed.

Thank you to all the law firm and community leaders who met with me when I started this endeavor; your advice on your industry needs and the overall marketplace helped me shape the firm.

Thank you to the communications professionals who were extremely generous with their time and advice (and continue to be). I learned so much, both about running a communications business as well as handling client needs. Your willingness to help a possible competitor is something I try to pay forward.

Thank you to all of our clients – past and present – who have entrusted us with telling their stories, the small ones and the big ones, and letting us help craft their messages during sometimes challenging times.

And most of all, thank you to our amazing and talented team – Jennifer Watler, Paula Bosler and our brilliant University of Miami intern Tayana Dix – for all that they do every day to keep me on track and our clients’ campaigns moving full steam ahead.

Like many folks, we have used the last month to work on some of our own marketing, including a new website and this blog. We plan to do more blogging about industry trends and business issues and hope that you will also let us know of any content you would specifically like to see featured.

Normally, I would have liked to have celebrated this anniversary with a team dinner, but since social distancing makes that impossible and many in our communities are struggling, we’re making donations to the United Way/Miami Herald Operation Helping Hands, a fund that helps struggling families with emergency needs due to the pandemic; and to the Greater Houston Covid-19 Recovery Fund.

If you are similarly blessed, these are groups worth supporting to help our neighbors in greatest need. 

And when we get to the other side of this pandemic, we’ll have that celebratory team dinner.
